If ‘Bismillah Allahu Akbar’ is recited while sacrificing the animals, the meat becomes Halal to consume. By slitting the throat, dirty blood of the animals’ flow out, making it clean.

With Qurbani there is a feast for servants of Allah (s.w.t). There is a devotion in the cause of Allah (s.w.t) in performing Qurbani. It is a way of showing gratitude to the many blessings Allah (s.w.t) has given us, to get closer to Allah, gain rewards and it also acts as a barrier against troubles.

Around the world, hundreds and thousands of animals are slaughtered each and every day. But only those who have the wealth and means can benefit from this. With the Qurbani, the poor and needy can also benefit from its meat and hide. Instead of individual benefit, the benefit of the community takes priority.

By sacrificing Qurbani, the number of animals slaughtered will not increase greatly. Because there will be many people performing Qurbani, many butchers will not slaughter animals to sell their meat due to the fact that people have their own.

It is not a fair judgement for people to criticise the sacrificing of animals once a year for the sake of Allah and be content with the slaughtering of many more animals every day for the pleasure and luxury of man.

In summary, Qurbani has been commanded because it has many religious, moral and social benefits. It is unthinkable for an able minded person to not acknowledge this.

It is Sunnah to seek one’s Rizq in the early hours of the morning. In this regard, Rasûlullâh (sallallâhu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Begin to seek Rizq early in the morning for there are Barakah (blessing) and success in the morning.”

While seeking Rizq, Muslims should not resort to the means that may cause them to neglect Dhikrullâh (remembrance of Allâh) or the Akhirah (hereafter), and they should not be too greedy which could affect their Warâ‘ (abstinence of the Haram).

The sustenance that Allâh Ta‘âlâ had decreed will not increase through greed. Rasûlullâh (sallallâhu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Verily Rizq follows and finds a person just as his appointed time of death does.”

In the first verse of Sûrah al-Mutaffifin, Allâh Ta‘âlâ says: “Woe to the defrauders!”

Muslims should not deceive people at trade deals. Besides, they should not take oaths, whether truly of falsely, to sell their goods. They should never attempt to cheat in their trades and not mix any Haram into their earnings. They should not hide the faults of their goods from their customers.
